YouTube was launched in February 2005 and by November 2006 Google bought it for $1.65 billion dollars, YouTube is the platform to go in case you are looking for a video of anything (always that is allowed by their politics), from TV Shows, Politics, Music, Travel, Food, Video Tutorials and more, is calculated that worldwide 30 million people visit it every day and each minute 300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube, so why you must consider use YouTube for your business if it’s that competitive?

Well there are many reasons why you should consider use it, let me list some of them:

 1) It’s totally free.

For opening a YouTube channel you only need to activate it with your Gmail account, once it’s done, you will be able to upload videos, the maximum size of the video is 128 GB or 12 hours, once you have verified your account via SMS or phone call (take less than 5 minutes to do).

2) Storage is unlimited.

YouTube does not have a limit on the amount of videos a channel can upload, which allows for unlimited video storage.

3) YouTube have 3 categories of video privacy settings:

Public videos

Can be seen and shared by anyone who use YouTube.

Private videos

These videos can only been seen by you and by the people you choose, they won’t appear on the videos tab on your channel and won’t show up on YouTube search results.

Unlisted videos

These videos can be seen and shared to anyone with the link people who don’t need a Google Account to see the video, the “unlisted videos” shouldn’t show up in YouTube’s search results unless someone adds the video to a public playlist.

Now that we know about these categories, let’s see how we can use them, for example

Public videos: This videos can be used to show the specifications and functionality of your products, all you need to do is share them a link or the title of your video and they will be able to watch it anywhere, also you can share the videos on your Facebook, Twitter and on your website.

Private videos: You can use this kind of videos to share to specific people, for example you can create video tutorials for your employees that they can reproduce anywhere.

Unlisted videos: This kind of videos can be use for video backgrounds on your website this way you will not have to worry about storage or slow reproduction speeds.

Video advertisement, you can record a special video for advertisement to show it on YouTube where the audience is global, also this video can be transformed into a pay advertisement that will appear in the beginning of the videos of other channels, using the Google advertising platform, Google will show your ad to people who are interested in your products or services.

Finally, other benefit of using YouTube is the possibility to generate revenue with ads, your channel will need to fulfill some requirements first to be eligible for this, but once it approved the revenue you generate will be proportional with the number of views your video generates.
